PERFORMANCE
& CAPABILITY

Engineered in Australia, Optimover uses a planetary gearing system and high amperage draw with a quality motor.  This combination, unique to Optitec, allows Optimover to achieve incredible power from a compact and low-weight machine.

The quality materials and parts used in the Optimover means this machine continues to operate to an exceptional standard after many years in use.

Optimover easily handles trailers, boats, and RVs weighing between 1,100 and 7,700 lbs, with a maximum tongue weight of 770 lbs.

Optimover handles both single and tandem axle trailers, even tight turns in confined spaces.

For tandem axle trailers with full off-road tires, Optimover still delivers powerful movement, though the turning circle may be slightly wider compared to standard tires.

Optimover is built for Real-World conditions, including moderate slopes and inclines

As a guideline, it can move a 5,500 lb (2.5 ton) trailer up a 10% grade (approx. 6° incline) — that’s a 3.3 ft rise over 33 ft — on solid concrete.  Performance on slopes may vary depending on your trailer’s weight distribution and the surface material (e.g., concrete, grass, or gravel).

If you’re planning to use OptiMover on an incline, we’re happy to help. Contact us for advice by emailing [email protected]

Optimover’s solid rubber tire is designed to handle various terrain types. It performs best on concrete, pavers, or compact aggregate, but it can also operate on dry, firm grass or compacted gravel.

For softer surfaces, like loose gravel or damp grass, a little creativity goes a long way.  4WD recovery tracks or timber planks can help improve traction when needed.

Optimover is equipped with a built-in dynamic brake for maximum safety. As soon as you release the forward or reverse button, the brake automatically engages — locking the wheel and holding your trailer in place. It will never free-wheel or roll away.

Note: Optimover operates independently of your trailer’s braking system.
While performance may vary based on trailer size and weight, we generally do not recommend using Optimover on slopes greater than 10% (approx. 6° incline).

SET UP & INSTALLATION

Optimover mounts to your trailer just like a standard jockey wheel using a clamp attachment — no professional installation needed. You can attach or remove it in under five minutes, making it quick and convenient to use across multiple trailers

The Optimover can be fitted to any trailer drawbar using a jockey wheel clamp.  Optitec sells a wide variety of clamps to fit many different size drawbars.

See our clamp size guide to find the most suitable clamp for your trailer. There are only limited clamps available in the US at the moment, but if you require a different size, please contact us at [email protected]

To connect your Optimover, your drawbar will need to be raised or lowered to be between 16in and 25in from the ground.

When operatng the Optimover, your drawbar should be able to be raised or lowered between 16in and 20in height from ground to allow for effective operation.

For trailers weighing over 3,300 lbs (1,500 kg), we recommend using a heavy-duty double clamp to ensure the Optimover remains firmly secured with zero pole movement during operation. Optimovers custom clamps are purpose-built for this exact need.

Optimover runs on a standard 12V power source. By not including an internal battery, Optimover stays lighter, more compact, and more durable over time.

Using the connection leads provided, you can power Optimover in three ways:

  1. Connect to your RV or trailer battery via an Anderson plug — as long as it’s wired to output power.

  2. Connect directly to a 12V deep cycle battery — we recommend a minimum of 80Ah capacity.

  3. Use a 12V jump starter or portable power pack – as long as it can continuously output 50amps
